Rainbow Centre Yishun Park

9 Jan 2013 marked the first day Izabella started school at Rainbow Centre Yishun Park. After waiting almost a year to get it, it was a big relieve to finally start her early intervention in their ESTEP programme for children who are on the Autism Spectrum.

Her classes are 3 times a week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 3.15pm to 5.15pm. Quite a rush as the helper and my dad has to pick her up from St Gerard's in Mountbatten by 12.30pm, be back by 2pm, feed and change her by 2.30pm and be at the bus stop outside orchid park by 2.40pm. Phew...

Now that she's a big girl, first day went smoothly. No fuss, no meltdowns, no crying. From school bus to school, from class to class and back home. Such a big gal now, but still my baby always!

Izabella's 4th Birthday

I know that this post is coming rather late but hey, better late then never right?

Princess Izabella turned 4 on 11 August 2012 but the celebrations started on 8 August in school.

I challenged myself this year with a 3D cake and I was pleased with the result. Although it had lots of room for improvement, it was a amateur baker's dream to do something really out of the box (or pan in this case).

I was lucky to get some tips from baker fren/fellow mommy Catherine who taught me to put in some fondant to shape the skirt (see yellow part below). The rest was just improvisation hahaha

It was definitely a treat to have her celebrate her birthday in school and for us to be around to witness it.

Trying to get Izabella to look at camera is nearly impossible!

We didn't managed to get a shot of her with her teachers and schoolmates though. Will have to do that next year! Mummy went all out this year with the cake, matching cupcakes as well as the matching princess dress from taobao :)

The second celebration we had was a simple family poolside BBQ with my parents and my brother. Ian's fren Andy and Dad's drinking buddies also joined us. Izabella had fun swimming and then playing with bubbles after an early dinner!

Off for a swim!

Busy catching bubbles!

Hair messy from all that running around!

After a sumptuous BBQ, we ended the night with cake cutting and family photos!

Me and Izabella are not very photogenic as you can tell..

And we always end of her birthday celebration with a trip somewhere on her actual birthday.
Year 1 - Zoo
Year 2 - Underwater World
Year 3 - USS and RWS
Year 4 - Zoo

So its back to the Zoo again. We reckon that now that she is much older, she would be able to understand better and recognise some of the animals. This time we brought Grandma along.

Checkout grandma's hat!

She really enjoyed the water play!

What a difference 3 years make!

Time to start thinking and planning for the next birthday!
